The Music-news.com / Traffic Cone Tips for 2011 Live show

We`de like to thank everyone involved for putting on a cracking show at Pivo Pivo on Saturday night. Heather for taking photos, the venue for having us, Mick on sound, Pete for recording, Sarah on the door, ALL the bands for playing storming sets and to everyone who turned out in force for a night of live music that will be remembered for generations :)

(Full review will appear on www.music-news.com shortly but in the meantime here`s a quick look at what went on and you can also see the video footage here- Traffic Cone`s LIVE Youtube page

TWO RIVERS set things up nicely with a beautiful acoustic set. David and Kirsty blend vocals superbly well. It was a nice relaxed start to a frantic evening

GHOSTS OF PROGRESS then took he roof off the place with a two man band that sounds ike a 5 piece. Any band that an play the drums with their feet, continue on with  a broken string after drivin from Montrose in the ice is good in my book.

MASTERS OF THE SEA didnt even have time to do a soundcheck but being the epitome of rock n roll they shrugged this off and went on to play a unique set of dark brooding music that took everyone by surprise

THE CELESTIANS went onto play a pop-packed , punchy rock set with each song sounding worthy of a single release. The guys were also kind enough to give a pedal to the next band up...

ANNIE STEVENSON

The guys pedal was broke, A band member was AWOL but it didnt stop `Annie` playing as a 3 piece. They played a highly charged note perfect set and even threw in a cover of `Bank Charge` and invited  a special guest Girobabies member on-stage to do so ;)

But the night belonged to THE FOLD who headlined and brought the overwhelming majority of the crowd (And half of Ayrshire) along and didnt disappoint. They were playing their first Glasgow gig and they delivered on their hype and promise. All songs had an instant classic quality to them and they ended with an encore of perfect cover versions including `Hey Jude` and `Fire` by Kasabian. The crowd went home beer soaked and happy.

Thanks to everyone who came....
